O’Carolan Harp and Traditional Music Festival
The O’Carolan Harp Festival and Summer School celebrates the life, music, and legacy of Turlough O’Carolan, one of Ireland’s greatest traditional composers and harpists. It started in 1978 and is held annually, over the August bank holiday, in the picturesque village of Keadue, County Roscommon, the festival brings together harpers, musicians and music lovers from around the world for a unique cultural experience.
This vibrant event offers a rich blend of performances, workshops, and masterclasses led by world-renowned harpers, musicians and experts in traditional Irish music. The Summer School is open to harpers and musicians of all skill levels, providing a supportive environment to learn, explore, and deepen their craft while immersing themselves in the traditions of Irish music. It also includes Concerts, Ceilithe, Harp Recitals and a Harp Competition sponsored every year since we began by local business Arigna Biofuels.
