Accessibility Statement
O’Carolan Harp Festival is committed to making its website accessible and usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
Conformance status
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard.
The website has been tested using a combination of automated accessibility testing tools and manual testing, including:
- GetWCAG.com
- Axe DevTools
- NVDA screen reader
Based on this testing, the website meets the requirements of WCAG 2.2 Level AA, subject to the limitations relating to third-party content and historical PDF documents described below.
We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing process and we will continue to review and improve the accessibility of the website as technologies, standards and user needs develop.
PDF documents
The website contains a number of PDF documents available for download. These documents contain historical information relating to previous activities and events of the O’Carolan Harp Festival and do not contain information concerning future festival activities.
Some of these historical PDFs may not fully meet current accessibility standards. In particular, they may not have been created with accessibility features such as tagged content, structured headings or fully accessible document formatting.
As these documents are historical in nature, we do not intend to retrospectively recreate all of them in accessible formats. However, when adding new content in the future, we will strive to provide important information in accessible HTML text on the website wherever possible. Where this is not reasonably possible, we will seek to provide an appropriate alternative where a significant accessibility barrier is identified.
If you require information contained in one of these historical PDF documents in an alternative format, please contact us using the details below and we will consider how best to assist you.
Third-party content
The website contains embedded content provided by third-party services, including YouTube and Google Maps. Some aspects of the accessibility of these embedded services are outside the website owner’s direct control.
Automated accessibility testing has identified technical accessibility issues within the YouTube embedded player. These issues are generated by YouTube’s player interface rather than by the website itself and cannot currently be corrected through the website’s code.
While the website has been tested using automated tools and manual screen-reader testing, the accessibility of third-party embedded content may vary. We continue to monitor the accessibility of these services and will seek to address or provide alternatives where a significant accessibility barrier is identified.
