Pádraig Sweeney is one of the best known Traditional Irish Musicians in this area and farther afield. Pádraig is a tutor at the O’Carolan Harp Festival and Summer School in Keadue, as well as being a committee member and tutor at The Joe Mooney Summer School in Drumshanbo.

Pádraig is both an accomplished and relaxed tutor and takes his classes very seriously. His aim is to get his pupils to a very high standard. He works annually with young people doing traditional music for both the Junior and Leaving Certificate practical examinations.

Pádraig teacher whistle in 3 local community centres as well as having house classes. He founded the group Ceolteoirí Lough Allen, which is made up of his pupils and his past-pupils and this group has played at many local gigs. Pádraig played with a group called ‘Aisling’ for a number of years back in the 1980’s & 1990’s over the Northwest of Ireland.

As long as Pádraig can bring a smile to his pupils faces, he will continue to teach.
